This week we went on a hunt in the playground to see if we could find some feathers. We didn’t find any but luckily our teachers had collected some so then we came back to class and wrote about them using our senses of sight and touch to describe them. Here is my work:
In Term 2 Week One we did Play Make Create. This is where the teacher reads you a story and you discuss the message in the story. Then you create something based on the message and also do a piece of writing. You can use materials or make a digital creation. I chose to make my mum a Mother's Day surprise.
This writing task was about a language experience. Our teachers brought different kinds of chocolate to school and we got to eat it! We tried white chocolate, milk chocolate, dark chocolate, caramel chocolate and pink chocolate. We could write about it in any way we liked but our teachers hoped we would use lots of describing language and our senses.
Chocolate
Firstly out of all the chocolate I chose the dark chocolate cause it's my favorite
chocolate of all.The chocolate looks as dark as the night sky.The dark chocolate
tastes like a delicious brownie. The dark chocolate smells like a really rich chocolate.
The dark chocolate felt as if it were going to melt in my fingers.
Secondly I ate the white chocolate. The white chocolate is my second favorite
chocolate. The white chocolate looked like a snowy milk.
The white chocolate tasted like vanilla flavored milk. The white chocolate
felt like a small hard rock.
Finally I ate the ordinary chocolate that everyone has probably tasted before.
The ordinary chocolate is my last favorite. The normal chocolate looks like pure
dirt. The normal chocolate tasted like melting deelishis chocolate.
This week for reading we had to complete a cloze activity after we read a story about chocolate.
Here is my work:
Emerald Week 10 Term 1 2021 SJ 2.3.1998 A Cup of Koko.
Complete the cloze activity below which describes what a drink of
koko smells and tastes like :
Use the following words to fill in the spaces: (If you need help, look
on pages 39 and 40 for clues).
When cocoa beans are being roasted they get darker and darker and the delicious, chocolatey smell gets stronger. A mug of thick, creamy, hot koko is just what Annie needs.
We have been learning how to use the correct structure and language for narrative writing.
